Comment Trigger Workflow
Automatically react when someone comments on your Instagram or Facebook post. Send a public reply, trigger a DM sequence, or both — all without manual effort.
Comment Trigger Workflow
What is a Comment Trigger?
A Comment Trigger watches your posts for new comments. When someone leaves a comment that matches your keyword (e.g. “INFO”, “PRICE”, “LINK”), Flowre instantly fires your automation — sending a DM, replying publicly, tagging the user, or starting a multi-step flow.
This is one of the most powerful growth tools on Instagram: asking followers to comment a keyword drives organic reach while Flowre captures the lead automatically.
How to create a Comment Trigger workflow
Go to Workflows
In the Flowre dashboard, click “Workflows” in the left sidebar. Then click the “+ New Workflow” button in the top right corner.
Choose your channel
Select the Instagram or Facebook channel you want this automation to run on. You must have at least one channel connected.
Add a Trigger node — Comment
On the canvas, click the “+” button to add a node. Choose Trigger → Comment on Post. This is the starting point of your workflow.
Configure the trigger
In the trigger settings panel you can choose: All comments (fires for every new comment), Specific keywords (only fires when the comment contains your keyword, case-insensitive), or Specific post (target one post, or run on all posts).
Add a Send Message node
After the trigger, click “+” to add the next step. Choose “Send DM” to send a private message to the commenter, or “Reply to Comment” to post a public reply under their comment.
Write your message
Type the message you want to send. Use variables like {{first_name}} to personalize. You can add buttons (Quick Replies) to continue the conversation.
Add more steps (optional)
You can chain additional nodes: delay timers, conditions (if/else), more messages, or lead capture cards. Build a full funnel directly from a comment.
Activate the workflow
Click “Save & Activate” in the top right. The workflow is now live. Test it by commenting on your own post with the trigger keyword.
- Use a single clear keyword in your post caption (e.g. “Comment INFO to get the link”).
- Enable “Also reply publicly” to boost your post's comment count and reach.
- Add a delay of 30–60 seconds before sending the DM so it feels more natural.
- Use conditions to send different messages based on whether the user already received a DM.
What happens from the user's perspective
User sees your post with “Comment PRICE to get our offer”
They comment “price” (any capitalization)
Flowre detects the keyword within seconds
Optional: Flowre posts a public reply — “Check your DMs!”
User receives a DM from your account with your offer, link, or button
They click a button → next step in your flow begins
Platform limits
Instagram limits the number of DMs sent per day from business accounts. If you run large campaigns, spread them across multiple days or use Flowre's rate-limiting options to stay within Meta's guidelines.
